Bruce Springsteen has added his voice to support for gay marriage in his native state of New Jersey.

He said in a statement, “I've long believed in and have always spoken out for the rights of same-sex couples” and continued “[I] urge those who support equal treatment for our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters to let their voices be heard now."

While New Jersey’s equal marriage bill passed a senate committee vote last week, the Democrats are unsure whether they will have enough votes to pass the bill in a full Senate vote.
