THE SCRIPT [UMA]
The Script are one of the most unlikely potential success stories of the year. Two thirds of these likable lads from Dublin, Ireland, are former producers noted for their work with legendary American stars like Dallas Austin, Teddy Reilly, Rodney Jerkins and The Neptunes (aka N*E*R*D - see review following).
However, The Script’s stateside jaunt is over, and with the release of their self-titled debut album these larrikins are set to become the ‘it’ boys of 2008. Their secret is their ability to write perfect pop songs; serious enough to be taken so, edgy enough to get noticed, diverse enough to sustain interest, and musical enough to stand out from the crowd. The Script have a manly sound not unlike Maroon 5 or The Hoosiers. Listen out for their singles ‘We Cry’ and ‘The Man Who Can’t Be Moved’.
