Could the three dudes of N*E*R*D possibly get any sexier? There’s enough designer stylin’, kinky beats and tongue trickery here to keep any needy chick or horny fella smilin’. Alongside Timbaland, Pharrell and his boy brigade (comprising Chad and Shae) are the most influential sound smiths kicking around the hood. Although responsible for churning out hugely popular and commercial sounds for the likes of Britney and Madonna (and any other musically devoid scrubbers with a fat purse), the fellas save the best for their own work. N*E*R*D have an experimental knack of combining a hip hop aesthetic with old school soul, 70s funk, guitar rock and classic pop song writing. The result is a classy album of modern music that sounds so dang street on my iPod.
