NICK SKITZ [CSR]
The press puff claims that Nick Skitz is the highest selling
dance artist in Australia. If this is to be believed, then Australia,
you’re insane in the membrane, insane in the brain. I mean, I know it takes all types, but the
unrelenting hyper-charged energy of this music is headache-inducing.
The sound is dated, harsh, samey and off-putting for the
discerning dance fan; or anyone who likes subtlety more than they do steroids,
Skylines and scrubbers. But as has been proven time and time again, dance music
is the new pub rock, so bogans dig it too.
Listen up for Melissa Tkautz’s new song ‘I Want Your Love’
(yes, it’s that song), remixes of The Choirboys ‘Run to Paradise’ and Bad
Medicine’s ‘Wanted Dead or Alive’, blood-curdling remakes of ‘Slave to the Music’,
‘Big Girl’s Don’t Cry’ and ‘Apologise’, and - you guessed - further remixes of
the above.
